An e-bike will make your ride more leisurely, a conventional bicycle more athletic. But it doesn’t matter which one you choose, the “Tales of the Gantrisch” tour leads along varied country roads with dreamy views of the Bernese Alps and through the pre-Alpine Nature Park Gantrisch. Here you can explore places that are steeped in history such as the ruins of the Rüeggisberg monastery. The latter was once home to French monks of the Cluniac order, who brought foreign customs and moral concepts with them. The clash between the different cultures was the breeding ground for a gruesome legend. To delve deeper into the history of the land and its people, you can read or listen to the legends at six exploration sites – and all of it in the region where they originated.
Food and accommodation
So much more than just cycling: should you get hungry, you’ll find all the products you need for a mouthwatering picnic in the charming farm and village shops along the way. And if you prefer a meal made from local ingredients, you can treat yourself in one of the restaurants.
